LOST DOG: Pomeranian Mix, male - Montebello, Dartmouth

UNRESOLVED:  The kijiji ad for this lost dog was taken down, and as it was our only way to contact the owners, we do not know if this dog was found.  I would like to think that it was found and is home safe n’ sound.

My dog got out of the back yard. Please if you have seen him please contact me. He is a very friendly dog. I think someone way have taken him in.  We live in the Caledonia rd Montelbello area Dartmouth.

SIGHTED: Roaming Dog: Beige Lrg Dog - Harrietsfield

Does anyone own a big beige dog, its roaming around harrietsfield, between the trailer court and the old pizza store,  the dog was around our place around 730. Looking pretty hunger.

Three Dogs Running Free Hwy 101 - Falmouth (Not Actual Dogs in Photo)

SIGHTED: Roaming Dogs: 3 Dogs Across Hwy 101 – Falmouth
Three dogs were seen running across Highway 101 around 7:50am. They were coming from the direction of the Bog Road. One was a Black and Red Shepherd mix and two looked like yellow labs — one lab looked young. These dogs are lucky to be alive after crossing the Highway.

SIGHTED: Roaming Dog: Chocolate Lab, Young Male - Clyde River, Shelburne

There is a young male chocolate lab wandering around my house in the Clyde River area Shelburne County behind the store, Old Post Office Road (off hwy 103, just before the bridge).  He’s been here since late this afternoon, March 7.  He is very friendly and has been hanging with my dog and the neighbours dog.  My number is 637-3589.

Update – April 10/11 – called no answer

I believe this dog was found, but since I can’t confirm at this time, it will go into ‘unresolved’.

Received this – hoping the dog is safe. Advised the person to contact Animal Services. :

“i didnt know who else to contact but there is what i believe to be a lost dog on highway 107 that i spotted around 10pm inbetween the east chez exit and the harbor he ran off into the woods he was a german shepard looked to be atleast 7 or 8 years old chain collar dark marking on his back and tail typical to a german shepard and he was quite shy of me and took off. im worried cause he was in the road a few times while i was trying to get him”

Received this distressing email:

I have a small flock of 4 hens and was saddened to find a dark lab type dog (solid colour but sort of blackish greyish (blue?) hue) with a red collar walking down the driveway with something dead and white in it’s mouth.  I checked the coop to find only one hen (they had been free ranging), 2 hours later 2 others came out from hiding spots.  One white leghorn still missing.  She could just be hiding and the dog might’ve had some other white animal like a rabbit or weasel – but it is sad to think a roaming dog ruined my day in such a way.  I don’t want anything bad to happen to the dog, I just want it to stop roaming.  Some neighbours said they saw the same dog on their step a few days ago taunting their dog.  Sad times, bad owners.  Maybe the dog was lost and hungry, who knows.  The remaining 3 hens are quite shaken up and will probably not lay for several weeks.  There are also many coyote snares and coyotes out here and the dog is in danger if he/she is roaming.

Our missing hen’s name is Chips, age 1 and a half.  All white, large red comb, yellowish white legs.

SIGHTED: Shepherd/Rotti mix, Blue Collar – Spar Rd Area, Whitney Pier, Cape Breton

Did anyone lose a dog in whitney pier? He looks to be a sheppard/rotti mix he is wearing a blue collar and is quite timid. I saw him on Feb 28th at around 4 pm and then again at 1 am. He seemed to be just wandering around by the sparr road area. I tried to get him but he was too timid and would not come close enough. Just wondering if anyone found him or if he ended up at the spca. Please call 304-4782

FOUND ROAMING: Lost dog: Older Beagle

I found an older beagle in my yard early this morning in the Oakfield area.  She didn’t have a collar on but was really friendly.  She is a bit overweight and also has a large lump between her hind legs.  I knocked on a few doors this morning but was unable to find her owner so I contacted Animal Control.  If this is your dog please contact Animal Control at 490-4000 to get her back home.  They also board lost dogs at the Homeward Bound Shelter in Burnside so you could contact them as well.  Hope she finds her way back home.
