Banjo in Gander!

Banjo

HAPPY ENDING: Heading Home, Safe n’ Sound!! Yippee!!  This is an amazing story.  Thanks to Brenda C.F. for putting this puzzle together. A local Rescue, Litters N’ Critters who works with needy dogs in Newfoundland/Labrador was contacted about a Found dog that was at the Gander SPCA.  They posted the found dog on their site and Brenda put two and two together… amazing! Turns out is is Banjo! A trucker driving through North Sydney couldn’t leave this dog out on the street (he was lost at the time) and picked him up. His ferry was leaving so he took him with him all the way to Newfoundland.  How or what happened then, I’m not sure, but now the finder and the owner are connected and looks like Banjo will be trucking back to North Sydney.  Yippee!! “Wren”

HAPPY ENDING: Safe n’ Sound After Nearly A YEAR!!! WOW!! Wren, a lost dog almost forgotten by everyone except for Adele and Animal Control.  Adele worked for almost a year with Animal Control to catch Wren who had made a life for himself out on the dykes. It’s just amazing that they finally caught this soft eyed boy … he’s finally safe!

UPDATE: 6.9.12 – We received this sighting of hopefully Wren: “We saw this dog on June 9th on the dykes behind Greenwich. He was lying down in long grass, hiding. As we tried to approach he ran away, terrified. Last we saw him he ran west, across the road to Port Williams and into the treed area down below Noggins Farm Market. He is very thin and skitterish.”

Breed or Mix: Black Lab/Rottie

Sex: Male, Age: 3 years

Collar/Tags: Red Collar, Poker Cards on it, no tags yet

Lost on: 05/04/2012

Area: On the Dykes, New Minas, Kings, NS

Additional Notes: This morning my dog took off, I just got him last night & when we opened the door this morning he bolted off before we could get the leash on him. He is black with dark brown legs, his name is Wren & from what I’ve seen he knows it. He was last seen down by the old Horton school just outside New Minas, I was told he looks very scared, but he’s verry friendly. You can try and get him to come to you, he really likes food. He’s underweight as he has a bad allergy to fleas & I need him to come home so I can get him treated.

LOST DOG: CORGI

FOUND: Corgi – Lower Sackville

By Nova Scotia Lost Dog Network · Sunday, January 30, 2011

Nova Scotia Lost Dog Network Removed from his leash on our deck, Saturday, January 29th in the afternoon. Sackville Estates Trailer Park, Lower Sackville, NS. neutered Tri – colour Corgi, Male, short hair, predominantly black with white and gold markings. He’s 15 – 20 lbs. Toes out, with his right ear flopped over. Blue collar. Please call u…s or contact HRM call centre at 490 – 4000 if you think you’ve seen him.
The good news is that he was found in someone’s backyard, and they called the HRM Call Centre. We now have him back, and have learned a lesson. The bad news is that, just as we thought, someone had just let him go. The Leash and clasp and collar and metal ring weren’t broken. He’s not a barker, and very friendly, which is how they could do it. Maybe they were trying to untangle him a little and he took off. I was home, but napping yesterday afternoon. It was just a wake – up call for us to be more considerate of him. We were all lucky, us because he was only let loose, not stolen, and him because he wasn’t hurt while he was on the “lam”.
