HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound!! Yippee!! From her Owners: “Bella has been found! We don’t have her yet as the very kind folk who found her took her to the shelter yesterday and we haven’t been able to get a human on the phone yet. She was located by your network. The bizarre thing is that the shelter redirects lost dog inquiries to 311 and I filed a missing dog file and they had her by that time. So that doesn’t work so well. When I phoned 311 later to tell them she’d been found they still didn’t know. We thought until this morning that she was with the people that had found her. I will send an update when she is here. Thank you so much!” Thank you to all who cared and shared and the folks that kept her safe. Wonderful! (6.29.14 – 7.1.14)

Additional Notes: A stray dog wearing two collars came into my yard about 7:05 p.m. this evening. My dog alerted on it barking and charging at the door to go out after it (he weighs 45 pounds and is young, anxious and excitable). The stray stood looking at my dog, not barking, or moving, just alert and watching but when I came to the door it bolted from my yard up Ben View toward Lorne. I’ve never seen the dog before. It is very fine boned; may be 50 lbs; coal black; body style of a Greyhound. I called Animal Control 311 and the 1-800 number, no answer and the call disconnected.

Collar/Tags: Both dogs are wearing patterned collars, tags from Weste Animal Hospital, home phone number and are microchipped.

Area: Bellefontaine Rd. West Chezzetcook, Halifax, NS

Additional Notes: Mama is somewhat larger and is white with reddish brown spots, about 50 lbs. Millie is white with black spots, about 45 lbs. They will run until tired, usually staying in the woods. Millie is timid but has always stayed with her mother and will come with her. They bolted out the door and could have gone in any direction. Last time they made it across the 107 hwy and ended up in Lake Echo. I am very worried they have gone that way again.
