HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound!! YIPPPPEEEEE!!!! Arthur is home, warm, sleeping in a bed tonight.  WELL DONE EVERYONE!! It was a hard catch, but after getting another sighting reported, they relocated the trap and within six hours were able to catch him.  FANTASTIC!!! From the Owner: “Found!! I found him in a live trap I relocated earlier this evening.”  Everyone is exhausted.  I want to praise the owners and the Community of Lantz for doing so much to help Arthur and get him home safely.  He was a skilled street smart dog that loved the outdoors, but I bet he is having the best sleep of his life tonight.  Thanks to all the NSLDN folks that were so concerned and worried about Arthur and helped by sharing his info.  Yeah!!! UPDATE: Sightings – Nov. 30, 2012:  There have been sightings daily of Arthur in and around Lantz, most recently on Loyd St: http://goo.gl/maps/6TVVW  As well, he is back over on Poplar St. occasionally.  He was rescued from a High Kill Shelter in California and probably was on the streets before that. He loves the outdoors and is shy of people.  A live trap will probably be the only opportunity to catch him, but reported sightings are vital to getting the live trap into the right area. Thank you to all who are concerned about Arthur.

Area: Highway 2, Lantz, East Hants, NS

Additional Notes: Short white coat with large tan marking on back and a tan left ear. Tip of nose is pink. Neutered. Has a chip implanted from when he was rescued from a kill shelter in California. Very skittish but loves all natural beef liver treats. Not very playful unless comfortable with the other dog even then it’s minimal. Balls and toys that make sound don’t draw him closer. Will normally freeze up when a larger dog approaches ( this is while on a leash though and not sure if its the same with him off). Doesn’t like being wet and steers away from puddles and long grass on walks.

Additional Info:  MALE: Shep/Collie mix (?) Appears to be middle aged, wearing a purple collar, no tags. MALE: Terrier mix, appears young, wearing a black collar, no tags. Both first sighted on Kenwood and were picked up on Kings Rd. Nov.18/12 at 10 am.

Additional Notes: My mom found this dog in the middle of the road very far away from any houses, took it to a friend of hers in the valley who called everyone she know in the surrounding area and no one knew where he came from. She brought him home to bridgewater, he is very child friendly, doesnt mind cats or other dogs, leash trained, will sit, and give paw, very smart dog, not sure how old he is, but he’s not very big. He had no collar or tags, but he looks like hes been groomed, and fairly certain he’s fixed. Am willing to take care of him until he finds his previous home, or take him in if one isn’t found. Was found last night, Nov. 17 around 7:30pm and when they stopped he ran right over and got in the truck and went to sleep

Lady Bird ‘Birdie’

HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound!! Yippee!! From the Owner: “Birdie is home!! We just found her, she was stuck in a snare all night. She didn’t pull or make a sound. She just has some small swelling on her neck. We’re off to the vet now, thank you so much for all your efforts!!”  (11.16.12 – 11.17.12)

Area: Telford cemetery (Sutherland’s River) hwy 4, New Glasgow, Pictou, NS

Additional Notes: Birdie is an 11 year old border collie, she is mostly black with spotted black on white feet, and white chest, some grey on her nose. She is tattooed. She is very sweet and friendly. Has never been missing or away from home. We think she got disorientated at dusk. Shes old and has spent nearly everyday with me, she is beyond irreplaceable. We’re so worried an continue our search, please help anyway possible to get her home.
