It is with great sadness and anger we let you know of the horrific deaths of Kale and Gizmo. They were found dead in an illegal dumping site. Here is the following story posted in the Cape Breton Post:
Two dogs escaped, Reserve Mines, Cape Breton, NS – Top dog is Kale, female, Lab/Hound Mix, tan, very gentle, Harley Davidson Collar and the bottom dog is Gizmo, male, Beagle/Hound Mix, black brindle/white, red collar, very gentle as well.

RAINBOW BRIDGE: Toby was hit by a car, yesterday 1/19/12, on the highway and passed away. The driver is devastated. Toby’s family is devastated. We all wish them heartfelt condolences for their loss of a good friend and family member. So very, very sad. SIGHTED: New Ross / Harris Lake/ Chester area of Lunenburg Co. BLACK DOG: male, looks somewhat like a med. sized shepherd with pointed ears, short coat. Tracks were seen in the snow this morning around 10:30 am, a dog was spotted on the lake around 5:00 pm, Jan.15/12 on the west side of the lake in the “Lake Ridge” area. There are no permanent residents on this lake.
