RAINBOW BRIDGE: Passed Away  – It is with heavy hearts that we share the death of an English Springer Spaniel on Hwy 103, near exit 4.  We can only conclude that it is the same dog that was sighted a few weeks ago chasing ducks across the highway. His luck ran out. We also want to send our thoughts out to the folks that had the misfortune of hitting this dog.  So sad all around. Thank you to all here who help missing dogs by sharing their info and help in bringing them home safely. (6.15.14)

Additional Info: Sighting of a liver and white English Springer Spaniel today at around 3:30 pm crossing hwy. #103 at exit 4 chasing a duck. Luckily dog made it across 4 lanes and back again towards Hubley without getting hit. Duck not so lucky. Thank you.

RAINBOW BRIDGE:  Passed Away.  From Sasco’s Owners: “Thanks for all the support.  My husband found Sasco’s body yesterday and buried him.  This is the first day I could relax since he ran away. I can go outside and drive down the road without looking for him.  Thankful we know what happened!”  Such sad news for Sasco’s family. We do send out our deepest sympathy and we hope that in time, his memories will bring back the smiles. At the same time, I know they must be relieved that they found him. RAINBOW BRIDGE: Passed Away:  This dog was supposedly roaming the area for a few days before it got hit by the car. A Black Lab with a milky white chin. Most likely a senior. A male with a camo collar. Thank you to the person who accidentally hit the dog and then went door to door looking for help. Thank you to all those that then shared this info and to the RCMP who searched in the rain and wind. There was a good effort to help, it just wasn’t meant to be this time. RIP Big Guy. (1.25.14 – 1.26.14)

Sighted On: 1.25.14 evening

Area:  Gays River Rd, Off Hwy 224, Hants (East) Co., NS

Additional Info:  A Large Black Dog was reported to be struck and injured by a car on Gays River Rd., heading towards Shubie, just past the Paintball place.  This is off of Hwy 224.  That is all we know. The RCMP were very helpful and searched the area, but no dog was found. It is possible that the person who hit the dog and was looking for owners may have been able to catch the dog and get it to safety. I felt since so many people were sharing this info it was important to get it out there even though we have few details. Please keep in mind, we may never hear what happened to this dog, but we are hoping for the best. If we do hear anything we will update you.

Also, there was a report of a woman looking for her Black Lab with a Hunters Orange Collar today in Stewiacke. It may be too far to be the same dog, but if anyone knows anything about this particular dog, please ask them to fill out a Lost Dog Report if the dog was not found – we would be glad to assist.
