Unknown

HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound! Yeah!! From his friend: “This is my neighbor’s dog Chase…He’s been found!” PHEW! Thanks so much for this wonderful update. Thank you to the person that reported this sighting, and to all who cared and shared his info. YIPPEE!! (9.6.17 – 9.7.17)

Breed or Mix: Golden Retriever

Sex: Male, Age: Adult

Collar/Tags: Red Reflective Collar

Lost on: 09/06/2017

Area: Loon Lake, Halifax, NS

Additional Notes: This dog was sighted in the middle of Highway 107 Extension (Forest Hills Ext), Cole Harbour bound, near KM Marker 5 or 6. We nearly hit it in the middle of the highway. We pulled over to try and secure it, but it got spooked and bolted into the woods leading to Lake Loon Golf Course. We believed it may have been attempting to cross the highway from the Montague area. We spent nearly an hour attempting to locate the dog to determine whether or not it had been hit by a vehicle. Dog seemed scared and confused. Was observed running in circles in the middle of the highway as if unsure which direction to go. We scanned the highway for any signs of distress, but did not see anything to indicate the dog was injured. I truly hope that this information helps to both locate the dog and to reunite it with its people. It was extremely difficult to drive away without knowing where the dog went or what condition it was in.
