HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound: Lost Dog: Riverside International Speedway, 101 Beaver Mountain Rd.,James River, Antigonish Co., NS — Border Collie Mix, Female, 6 — “Sasha”

Sasha’s HAPPY ENDING! Here she is on her way home…finally!

HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound! AFTER 3 MONTHS. YESSSS!!! Three long months of travelling from home, an hour each way. Hours and hours of dedicated ‘new’ friends (so many…what a community!) working tirelessly to figure out what will actually ‘trap’ Sasha. There was no convincing shy Sasha to come into someone, she needed to be trapped. She eluded capture in traditional human live traps. Escaped from homemade traps designed especially for shy dogs like Sasha. But, finally, the ingenuity and dedication of her family and new friends (Marlene and Rick) meant she would be trapped under their deck. Alarms would trigger when she was in the yard… Marlene at the window, Rick at the rope… watching, waiting for Sasha to go under the deck to feed once again. Argh! The rope froze to the deck! Off she would run. {With a nearby coyote kill (deer) – hopes were being dashed.} But, thank goodness she would come back a few days later. Everything worked perfectly. Rick even screwed down the door until her family arrived. She’s safe! She’s safe! And now she is back home where she belongs, glued to her Dad’s leg… recovery will take a little time. But she will be fine. Three long months of hard work, an amazing community, lots of ups and downs, so much hope and so many good wishes. Over 800 comments in her posts of people discussing every possible way Sasha could be captured. So many people to thank… it will all come with time. Sasha is home. (10.14.16 – 1.14.17)
