Bear

HAPPY ENDING: Home; Safe N’ Sound. YIPPEE!!  We thank all that continued to care and share. “A kind lady found him on George St. and brought him in her porch. (She actually let Bear chase her cat right inside and then she shut the door! lol) Called the SPCA, once confirmed it was Bear they called his dad and he came right away and was very emotional and thankful” (1.7.14 – 1.16.14)

Breed or Mix: Scruffy Poodle/Terrier/Chihuahua Mix

Sex: Male, Age: 1

Collar/Tags: Turquoise and brown stripped Collar (same collar as in the picture)

Lost on: 01/07/2014

Area:  French Street EXT, Sydney, Cape Breton, NS

Additional Notes: He has very wirey hair, he looks like a shaggy dog, his tail curls up, his ears lay against his head most of the time but come up when he is alert. He will likely bark like crazy at any little thing and be very skittish, He has been that way since he was born. We have his mother here with us who is very distraught. He answers to Bear, and will likely be playful with other dogs. He is 1 year old and still a playful pup. Has a lot of energy. He is small under 10 lbs. He ran straight out the front door when my husband was putting them all on their leads to go outside. He got away once but came right back. We have had his mother and our other dog out looking for him as well. We don’t see any signs that he is out there but are hoping that someone has taken him in for the night!

Bear has been found! He chased a cat into a womans home and she shut the door and called the SPCA! She is our hero! I don’t know what her name is, but I just want to thank her and all of you from the bottom of our hearts. He was found on George Street, so he traveled far, he is skinny after being out for 9 days and appears that he might have frost bite on his upper lip! He has had a nice warm bath, 2 pieces of fish, 4 hot dogs, some kibble, a can of dog food, tons of water, and snuggled up like crazy! He is tired and worn out, but he is HOME! I love the Nova Scotia Lost Dog Network, I never gave up hope and either did any of you. For the people that shared for the people that were out looking, we can never repay you for the kindess you have shown! Like my 8 year old daughter said though, we will be looking for every lost dog in Sydney now just like everyone looked for our Bear. It truly is the best ending! If you have lost your baby, don’t give up hope!
