Roaming Dog

Breed or Mix: Mastiff/Boxer Mix

Sex: Female? Age: Adult

Collar/Tags: ??

Lost on: 11/30/2013

Area: 360 Holland Road, Fletchers Lake, HRM, NS

Additional Notes: This dog has been roaming on Holland Road for the last nine days. Animal control is involved in the case and they have a live trap set. So far no luck. I personally have never seen the dogs but a number of neighbours have and one of the neighbours was able to finally get a picture of Her/him today. Very scared. We are all concerned this dog will get hit by a car. No owners seem to be involved in looking for her/him at this point of time – hopefully this will reach her/his owner.

Please Contact: Please cross post and if you have any information contact: HRM Animal Control by dialling 311, or Joanne Pullin, joannepullin@roamingrovers.ca 902 497 5191
Don and Francis Reid are the neighbours who see her/him the most. 902-860-2771

Thanks for this info. Could you ask them to report every time they have a sighting to Animal Control by dialling 311. This might give them a chance to catch up with this dog and get it to safety. Poor thing. Thanks so much,

My neighbour sent me this note earlier, I was waiting for the pictures but haven’t seen them yet so here is this for now. Good to know we know who she is though !

WE HAD A VISIT FROM ROXIE… THE MAN FROM ANIMAL SERVICE SAID THAT IS DEFINITELY THE PROPER NAME…… SHE WAS SNIFFING A LOT AROUND THE CAGE… DID NOT GO INSIDE…. WANDERED AROUND ON THE ROAD … IN CHERYL’S YARD.. ON HER FRONT STEP & ON HER SIDE DECK, THEN WALKED DOWN THE ROAD TOWARD THE WOODS. DON & I WATCHED HER FOR AT LEAST 10 MIN. SHE IS NOT NEARLY AS SKITTISH AS LAST WEEK… I TOOK SOME PHOTOS & WILL SEND THEM TO YOU AFTER I GET SOMEONE TO TRANSFER THEM TO THE COMPUTER. THE MAN FROM ANIMAL SERVICE SAID HE HAD BEEN OUT HERE BEFORE ABOUT ROXIE SO IS A LITTLE FAMILIAR WITH HER.. HE WAS GOING TO LOOK ON BROOK ST. I MENTIONED MAYBE THEY SHOULD PUT A LARGER CAGE AS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IT LOOKS AS IF SHE WILL HAVE TO BEND DOWN TO ENTER THE INSIDE. HE SAID THAT IS THE LARGEST CAGE THEY HAVE. DON MENTIONED SHOOTING THE TRANQUILIZER & HE SAID THEY DO NOT DO THAT….. WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO SAVE HER AT THIS POINT!!!!

My parents live on Brook St, and spotted her again this AM around 10:00am , they contacted Animal Control and said that they do not see her everyday , but when they do it is always around 10:00am – 11:00am . They have been contacting Animal Control every time they see her, and Animal Control also stressed the importance for people not to leave food out for her as they want her to get hungry and go to the live trap to eat . I hope she is caught soon , it’s cold out there and she needs a home.

Roxie was picked up today on Brook St. She was spotted in the ditch by a man while he was out for a walk. Many thanks to everyone who was involved trying to get Roxie so she could be in a warm safe place. A special thank you to the man with the cookies. I hope Roxie will be ok after she gets care from a veterinarian. Lets all hope she gets adopted to a good home that will love and take care of her for the rest of her life. I’ll be going to try to find where she is staying so I can meet her without her running. My sister is looking to adopt, they had to put there 14 year old lab down in August.
