There have been a couple of sightings of a dog being walked that ‘looks like Bentley’ in the Winston/Belliveau Avenue and E Pleasant St area of Amherst. If this can be confirmed or ruled out that would be great. If anyone sees anything please try and find out where the dog is being walked to (address) so we can check this out. We are still desperately searching and want to check every possibility.

Hi I seen a younger white male slim build walking a dog exactly like bently walking towards the four way stop past kens grocery and made a right turn at the four way. I couldn’t see his face it was around 8 pm

Hi. Myself and a couple of others walk along the marsh trail that runs parallel to Victoria Street, towards the marshes. For the past 3 days we have heard a dog barking and sounds like its coming from a treed area towards the Tantramar marshes. There is a high pitch to the bark like a smaller dog, or a dog in distress. a few barks, then nothing, then a few more barks and repeat a few times, then quiet. I went into the wooded area today with the snowshoes, but couldn’t find anything, nor hear anything… We’ve only heard it just before dusk. Could be a coyote pup (not sure if it’s the season or not(??)? or any number of things, but if anyone’s along the trail, keep your eyes and ears open.

      Hey Jill,

Thank you so much for reporting this here and taking the time to look into this further. Please report your ‘sighting’ to Animal Services: 597-8737. Explain about Bentley as well. It’s important that folks know there may be a dog, any dog, out there.

      Again, thank you so much,

      Ann Morrison

      Hello Jill,

Thanks for sending this in. Coyote pups are normally born in April or May. Can you take a picture of the location that you are hearing the barks from on your next walk? If you could get a GPS location that would be wonderful.
