I was just wondering if this baby has been found yet and if not I can call a few people I know from the Back Road and we could head out looking… Just update as you can.

Hi there, I am an RCMP officer and just updated the face book site. I sent photos today to a friend that shows dogs and she contacted the owner. I located this dog deceased in the grass at exit 6 on the 102 highway. The dept of transportation has removed the body. Sorry this is not a happy ending in this case.

      Hello Michael,

This is a sad ending to such a beautiful young dog that had a promising future as a Search and Rescue dog. Accidents happen, they just do. However, when they do it’s not always that you have such great people step up to the plate and help make a difference. A big thank you to you for letting the owner know and another to the man that hit the dog who also came forward. This rarely happens and many families are just tortured with not every knowing what happened. Our thoughts are with Cheka’s family. Thanks for helping, Ann Morrison

  3. hi ,i wish to thank all the people from the organization of nova scotia lost dog and all the people who helped us search for our dog Checka. I have never seen so many people devoted for a cause! Again thank you so much. Yolan
