RAINBOW BRIDGE: Passed Away.  It’s with a heavy heart that we share this news from the Owners: “Sad news: Kenny has been found not far from where he went missing, but has passed away.  Some closure after a few months of wondering. Thanks for all your help NSLDN.”  Our sincerest condolences go out to Kenny’s family. (1.8.13 – 3.10.13)

 

UPDATED: Jan. 9, 2013 – Half a HAPPY ENDING: From the Owners: “Shankly (one at the top) has returned…still no sign of Kenny. Last heard in the woods of Dean’s Corner”

Collar/Tags:  red and black collar with a Red/pink 2012 Lunenburg Dog tag as well as a bone shaped name tag

Area: between Upper First Peninsula Road and the water, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, NS

Additional Notes:  lost on first peninsula, last seen/heard behind “The Ernst’s Farm” in the wood by the inlet.  Kenny is Predominately Black with brown spots and a white diamond on the nape of the neck. Has a brown Head and snout. It also looks like he is wearing eyeliner. Both dogs are friendly and may come if called.

HAPPY ENDING: Home, Safe n’ Sound!! Yippee!! COOPER HAS JUST BEEN FOUND COLD BUT SAFE! Thanks to ALL that shared and kept an eye out for him. 10 Hours after he went missing we found him in the Birchbear Woods area.  Our family gives many thanks! This is a wonderful network. (1.6.13 – 1.6.13)

Additional Info: “Cooper, a white English Setter dog with black spots was lost on the Rails to Trails trail in Tantallon at approx 1:00pm, January 6, 2013 between Jerry Lawrence Park and the parking lot on the road which marks the start of the BLT trail.  He is wearing a ‘Santa Paws’ green Christmas collar but has no ID tags on this collar. He is very skitttish but friendly.”

Additional Notes: Nicky is a small sized Beagle who went missing from the Cookville area on Jan 5/13. She is white, black, and brown and is 11 years old. She went missing while out rabbit hunting around the Rhodenizer Road and she is Not familiar with the area. Based on tracks in the snow, we believe she is still close to the Rhodenizer Road/Dauphinee Road area, but she may have wandered further by now. Nicky is wearing an orange collar with a bell attached.

We’ve found a dog in Upper Nine Mile River. I’m not a good judge of what breed. My guess is maybe a bit of husky, bit of german sheppard and maybe black lab…I dunno. He’s mostly black, kind of has rottweiler colors, 2 brown/tan spots over his eyes. He looks to be about a year old-ish. He’s probably only about 40-ish lbs. He’s a bit timmid at first but has taken to me very much. Neighbors said he showed up to the area last night and they’ve seen him diggin in garbages and trying to knock over green bins early this morning.

Additional Notes: 2 loose dogs spotted about half way up the upper part of Duggan drive (appeared to be traveling together). First was medium size, resembled border collie/mix in shape and size, dark in color. Second appeared younger, medium height, slim, appeared to be amstaff or valley bull mix in shape, also dark in color. Dark outside so didn’t get a great look at them. When I opened my door they ran together up Duggan drive. This was around 12:20-12:30 am

Area:  Sackville Drive, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia, NS

Additional Notes: Dog responds to “sit” and “down”. Dog is missing a lot of hair off its behind and has a white ring of fur around one of its paws. Dog appears to be slightly dehydrated and accepted dog food without question. He has brown eyes and barks/whines when nothing appears to be wrong. He probably is missing his family. He was walking up and down Sackville Drive zig-zagging in and out of traffic and I picked him up. Animal Control has come to pick him up and is with the HRM.
