Additional Notes: this dog has been noted running loose for days in and around the Hardwood Hill cemetary. Cars were having to stop in the road not to hit him – not sign of owner nobody knew who owned him – frightened and thirsty – collar was too loose – aside from being terrified the dog was friendly – nails too long – afraid in the car – he is now at the Cape Breton SPCA – he clung to me like he was in huge need of love – poor boy

HBCP knew nothing about an investigation as suggested, so maybe it was just a bad choice of words by the switchboard. Unless they just meant they were confirming ownership.
