Unknown ***STOCK PHOTO*** Not Actual Dog
RAINBOW BRIDGE: Passed Away: This dog was supposedly roaming the area for a few days before it got hit by the car. A Black Lab with a milky white chin. Most likely a senior. A male with a camo collar. Thank you to the person who accidentally hit the dog and then went door to door looking for help. Thank you to all those that then shared this info and to the RCMP who searched in the rain and wind. There was a good effort to help, it just wasn’t meant to be this time. RIP Big Guy. (1.25.14 – 1.26.14)

Sighted On: 1.25.14 evening
Area: Gays River Rd, Off Hwy 224, Hants (East) Co., NS
Additional Info: A Large Black Dog was reported to be struck and injured by a car on Gays River Rd., heading towards Shubie, just past the Paintball place. This is off of Hwy 224. That is all we know. The RCMP were very helpful and searched the area, but no dog was found. It is possible that the person who hit the dog and was looking for owners may have been able to catch the dog and get it to safety. I felt since so many people were sharing this info it was important to get it out there even though we have few details. Please keep in mind, we may never hear what happened to this dog, but we are hoping for the best. If we do hear anything we will update you.
Also, there was a report of a woman looking for her Black Lab with a Hunters Orange Collar today in Stewiacke. It may be too far to be the same dog, but if anyone knows anything about this particular dog, please ask them to fill out a Lost Dog Report if the dog was not found – we would be glad to assist.
Contact Info: Please share and if you have any information contact: Animal Control (East Hants) at 883-3387 or Gary Lunn – West Hants at 798-8391 (after hrs. til 10pm 757-3457)
