Eve

RAINBOW BRIDGE: Passed Away.  My heart goes out to my friend Wendy, as Eve was found today.  She was hit by a car near Gore.  We thank Wendy and her family for giving Eve a safe and loving second  home after a horrible life of abuse.  She had a taste of pure freedom before heading over the bridge. May memories of her bring smiles one day and just knowing that she is no longer lost bring them peace.  (2.21.13 – 3.31.13)

UPDATE: 3.23.13 – From the Owner: “Well, it’s been a solid month !! I never would have believed that I’d still be doing this an entire MONTH later …. after the snow fall on Tues. we didn’t find ANY fresh tracks, so we assumed she was gone. Nothing on Thurs. either, so we went back Thurs. night and brought the live trap home – that night I had a MELT DOWN because I felt like I was quitting on her, but we had no idea what else we could do. I was still a mess Fri. but by 2 o’clock in the afternoon I HAD to go back and check for tracks … my neighbor had just come through McInnis road at 12:30 and assured me there were no new tracks then … she came with me AGAIN (don’t know how I’ll EVER re-pay her – she’s been out there looking as much as we have – we’ve become great friends through this !) and we went back to the (location). Found ALL KINDS of VERY fresh tracks – we had JUST missed her ! Anyway, the live trap is set back up again with fresh meat in it – PRAY !!
I really don’t know how much longer we can do this …. I’m just about crazy ..”

Wondering if I could leave a comment on Eves post, that we are missing a husky too same age, but male, and if they were to be contacted then let me know. Quite a distance apart but we may still receive sightings on each others dogs, Sharon 543-4211

Would the presence of other huskies in the area where is she is hiding out at be of any help. I don’t know her personality, if she is shy it may not but if you think it would help I can have both my girls and a number of others in the area if you thought it might draw her out at all. Your call, just let me know if you want to try it.

Would putting “dirty” clothing out there help, even in a trail to your house?

  4. Any luck? have you checked behind Mike Caseys’ where ‘coyotes’ are being seen? When my roosters crowed this morning something barked back from there, just above the Casey stream.
